Whether you're a contractor, builder, architect or distributor, sourcing high quality materials is crucial if you want the structure to go the distance, and Rondo has earned its status as a market leader.
The Rondo Story
Believe it or not, the Rondo story began all the way back in 1959 as Rondo Zipador Pty Ltd selling zippers. Originally established by Eric Cuckson and trading as W.E. Cuckson and Sons, Cuckson developed a thermal aluminium foil ceiling system to reduce the heat from the factory’s roof in St Mary’s, New South Wales.
With the concept simply being to improve his employee’s working conditions, the foil ceiling system quickly took on a life of its own and became known as “Rondo Foil” - or the first construction oriented product that was manufactured, distributed and installed by the company. Ten years after the initial concept of the product, Cuckson was approached in regards to manufacturing a concealed ceiling grid system, which ultimately acted as the catalyst that transformed Rondo Zipador Pty Ltd into Rondo Building Services 1964. The very same ceiling grid system was the first of it’s kind produced in Australia, paving the way for Rondo to become the industry pioneers that we are familiar with today.
Fast forward to 2020, and Rondo has expanded outside of Australia and into New Zealand, the Middle East and Asia. As a highly focused business involved in the manufacture and supply of a wide range of light gauge roll form steel products and systems, Rondo’s primary production plant is still located in in Erskine Park, New South Wales - a state of the art facility that houses thirty-one machines, and operates seven days a week.
