For Southeast Queensland (Climate Zone 2), NCC 2022 minimums are R2.0 for ceilings and R1.5 for external walls in new residential builds. Common choices: R3.5 ceiling batts for solid thermal performance; R5.0–R6.0 for premium roof insulation; R2.0 wall batts for external walls.
